Christmas Appeal
Toys and Gifts
Our Annual Christmas Appeal makes it possible for low income families to share in the joy of Christmas. Southcare is once again working with UnitingCare and Target Stores to ensure that disadvantaged families have gifts to open on Christmas Day. As usual Southcare will be Santa in your community by distributing the gifts that are donated at the Christmas Tree in the Target store in the Park Centre on Albany Highway East Victoria Park. When you are next in the area, please consider purchasing a small gift or gift voucher and leaving it under the tree which is at the entrance of the Target store. For many children and teenagers their Southcare gift is the only one they receive at this time of the year!
Christmas Hampers
From October each year, local schools, organisations and members of the public collect non-perishable food items and Christmas fare which volunteers make into hampers. We are also donated cakes by the Lions Club. These are given to those members of the community who we have identified as struggling to make ends meet. If you are not in regular contact with a school or organisation and would like to donate to gifts and hampers please bring items to our reception at 54 Bickley Crescent, Manning. Hours: 8.30 am – 4.00 pm Monday – Friday.
Due to our duty of care we do ask that food items are not passed their use-by date and toys and other gifts are new.
Please contact Vicki McBeth on vicki.m@southcare.org.au if you:
* Can help with making up hampers
* Can help with collecting cans and items from schools and clubs
* Can help with sorting gifts collected from Target
* Have items to donate but cannot get them to Southcare
* Have a business or association and can put up a Christmas Appeal Poster and act as a collection point
