Mankara Low Cost Food Store

Mankara is entirely operated by friendly volunteers. It is set up as a small supermarket and stocked with most of the items you would find in a local store.The main difference is that it is run with one thing in mind – to sell groceries at the lowest possible prices to people in the community who are struggling to make ends meet

From time to time manufacturers will make available products at very low prices that are close to use-by date or which have had a change of packaging.Southcare in turn sells these as Super Specials. Local bakeries also generously donate day old bread which is available freeduring Southcare’s opening hours. We also receive donations of fruit and produce from generous members of the public who grow too much for their own use. This is also given to customers free of charge and enables them to include fruit and vegetables in their diets.

Mankara also makes it possible for the financial counsellor to provide emergency relief in the form of food vouchers .

8.30 am to 2.00 pm each week day
