Community Care Team
Our Southcarers started using their caring hands in 1982 and today a team of more than 100 support people in suburbs all over Perth.
All Southcarers are united in their purpose to be proactive carers, connectors and contributors in our community.
All of us are helpers, whether we work in our community care team, as community contributors or proactive carers. We help you and each other, ensuring our work as an essential service meets stringent quality standards, has good governance and excellent customer service.

I am the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Southcare, providing overarching leadership and direction for Southcare within a culture that is aligned to the organisations purpose, values and vision for the benefit of Southcare customers, volunteers and staff.
I took on this role in 2023 after being a Southcarer since 2015, where I served in the role of Chief Finance Officer (CFO) with responsibility for strategic financial advice, fiscal management and corporate performance reporting.
I have extensive experience in the areas of strategy, ICT, auditing, consulting, operational and financial analysis, both in Australia and internationally.
I hold a Bachelor of Business from the University of Limerick (Ireland), am registered Chartered Accountant and have completed leadership courses with Leadership WA, Engaging Young Leaders on Aged Care and Community Boards and the McKinsey Executive Leadership program.

My focus is on delivering high-quality, person-centred care by strengthening participant relationships, championing clinical governance, and ensuring our services evolve in line with community needs and organisational priorities.
With more than 15 years’ experience in aged care, I began my Southcare journey in 2012 and have worked across the entire Community Home Care team. I value strong connections with our care workers and Southcare Stars, taking pride in supporting their important work and ensuring the ongoing management of care needs.
Beyond Southcare, I enjoy raising my young family, tending to my garden, and travelling – especially camping adventures throughout regional WA.

Whilst I oversee our extensive onboarding and play an integral part in ensuring our training and development comply with the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, I strive to retain our current workforce who deliver high quality care to our customers.
In line with Southcare’s Career Advancement, I also endeavour to appoint roles internally with workforce planning and continuously upskilling and developing our current workforce. I oversee our Employee Value Proposition that invests in, supports and celebrates our Southcarers. I am committed to my role, and it is a great pleasure to work with the dedicated teams at Southcare who all share common goals.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, keeping fit, entertaining family and friends and holidaying to new destinations!

Through inclusive and thoughtful communication, I aim to build trust, strengthen relationships – empower participants to live fulfilling lives within their community and create events they love to attend.

I have been involved in delivering community services in the non-government sector for more than 30 years. My inspiration to work in the community sector came from a lecturer who once told me my passion for helping people and “anti-establishment” attitude would be wasted otherwise.
Outside of work my other passions in life are music and jamming a tune on the drums, barracking for my beloved Geelong Cats, enjoying good food and wine and a day at the races. I also enjoy socialising with family which includes my wife, son, daughter and big black Labrador.

I am a registered nurse with more than 20 years’ experience across aged care, operating theatres, emergency services, and volunteer work with St John Ambulance in remote WA and have held senior leadership roles in aged care, including residential facility management, home care support, quality and risk oversight, operations management, executive leadership, education, and service design. My passion is creating systems that empower teams to deliver seamless, participant-centred care while maintaining efficiency and uncompromised service quality. I also oversee and manage IT projects, ensuring they meet Southcare’s strategy to deliver the best possible online experience for our participants, and support and manage the Administration and Support Team. Having smooth and effective systems ensures that our core operations run smoothly, enabling our team to effectively support our participants living independently, healthily and happy at home.
I joined Southcare in 2019, initially as a volunteer, and over the years, have had the opportunity to work in various departments, which has allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of how Southcare operates and how each team integrates seamlessly with each another for the benefit of our participants.
Beyond my professional responsibilities, I have a deep passion for giving back to the community and upholding all of Southcare’s values. This commitment drives me to continuously seek improvements that make a positive impact on both Southcare and the people we support.

Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, especially outdoors. With much of my family living overseas, I also stay connected through technology and take every opportunity to travel when possible.
