Southcare and Befriend are offering free community workshops to help you better connect with your community, with the goal of bringing your ideas and skills to life to help others.  

These workshops are perfect if you want to host a group, or organise gatherings over a common interest or skill and you will walk away feeling empowered and confident to lead and connect with your community in a fun and safe way. 

Maybe you’ve wanted to run a book club, craft group, or teach others singing, chess or anything really… if so, these workshops are for you!

Stepping Stones: Taking the next steps to connect with your community
When: Friday 8 September between 1pm – 2.30pm  

Navigating the pathway to community connection doesn’t have to be challenging. This workshop provides a balance of reflective space, ideas sharing and brainstorming to take the next step in your connection journey that feels right for you!

Contributing in community: discovering what you love to give
When: Friday 15 September between 1pm – 2.30pm

Unleash the power of your gifts to contribute to community in meaningful ways. This workshop is designed to spark ideas and brainstorm what you love to give and the spaces you can do that in!

Starting a Group; Dream of starting a social gathering but don’t know where to begin?
When: Friday 22 September between 1pm – 3pm

This practical session is your launchpad, providing the inspiration and tools you need to ignite your community connections.

Volunteer induction
When: Saturday 30 September between 10am – 11am

If you decide to start a group to help your community, Befriend will help you with a full induction and Southcare will do the same.

All workshops at Southcare’s Helen Moore Centre (Educate Space), 52 Bickley Crescent, Manning.  RSVPs are not required, just turn up and get ready to join the conversation.   Coffee, tea and biscuits are supplied. 

Southcare’s Community Ambassadors are welcome to run all sorts of events using Southcare’s Spaces, so long as they are inclusive and for the benefit of everyone.  We currently run a knitting group and board games group and other ideas are only limited by your imagination!
