Kings Park outing fit for a queen
We love hearing feedback from Our Southcare Stars as much as we love helping them, and this one is especially fun!
Pearl who is almost 97 years old and pictured here with her Labrador, Freddie, enjoyed recently a day out in Kings Park on her newly repaired gopher.
Southcare helped fix her gopher as part of her care package and because of that she has the freedom to get around (before self isolation set in!).
Her son Nick told us that the gopher gives Pearl independence and means that he doesn’t need to push her in a wheelchair when out and about.
“Mum stopped driving when she was 94.7 years of age and so has limited mobility, particularly over long distances,” Nick said.
“This outing has raised my spirits after being confined at home for a while,” Pearl said.
“I’m looking forward to using it more around my local area of South Perth when the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted,” she said.
