Southcare Star goes to new heights!
What’s at the top of your bucket list? For Southcare Star Terry, it’s defying gravity! So, when he asked to be taken to an indoor skydiving centre during his service visit, we said: “start the car!”
“I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I have always wanted to know what it feels like to fly,” Terry says.
“And I can now say it feels incredible!”
“I have wanted to do this for the longest time and made it my new year’s resolution. I’m 69 this year and want to make the most of everyday.
“I had all the safety checks and knew I was in safe hands, even when the instructors let go and I was flying solo!”
Southcare visits Terry every week for social support in line with his approved care needs.
Community Support Worker Aashish’s caring hands drove Terry to the centre and helped get him organised and safety checked.
“We don’t always do things like this when we are together, but I enjoy getting out of the house driving to different places,” Terry says.
And where did Aashish take Terry for his next social support service? To our office of course, to drop off Terry’s action-packed photo and pose for another so we can share it with you, and hopefully inspire you to cross some things off your bucket list!
