Connecting communities is what we have been doing for 40 years because meaningful relationships bring purpose and joy to all our lives.

If you need a hand connecting with like-minded people or organisations, or just want to feel more in tune with your community, the caring hands of our Community Connect team can help.

Whether it’s through partnerships or collaborations, volunteering or being a change maker on industry boards, we help build capabilities, improve confidence and ignite the next generation of community leaders and mentors.

Our Volunteers

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Southcare, first using their caring hands in 1982 and still doing so today in a variety of roles giving back to our community and to our customers.

We call them Southcare Heroes and you might call them a friendly face when you see them in our op shop, helping in our community services or office teams, leading social groups in our community hub or helping you around your neighbourhood.

In the last 12 months our volunteers gave 5,950 hours of service back to the community, representing $285,000 of social impact contribution.

Become a volunteer

If you have caring hands and want to make a difference everyday, reach out and volunteer with us. It is a role that gives you so much and where the gift is truly in the giving.

Southcare’s volunteers give their time, energy and experience for many reasons: to share their skills and knowledge, learn new skills, meet new people, find out what’s going on in the community, or because they want to do something for someone else. With this diversity, comes a depth of experience and a richness which is always growing as new volunteers join us to use their caring hands in new ways.
