    Kathryn is an acting Nurse Manager at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital and brings essential clinical experience to the Southcare Board, which is a mandated requirement to equip Southcare with future-ready management of the new aged care reforms.

    Her clinical experience spans hospital-wide medical equipment fleet management and procurement bariatric patient equipment assessments, plastics and reconstructive surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, staff development nursing, drug and alcohol services and paediatrics.

    She also brings advocacy, awareness and lived experience of neurodivergence, disability and accessibility.

    Her professional and lived experience has seen her appointed to Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital’s National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards committee responsible for Standard 2: Partnering with Consumers.

    She was a foundation member of Leading Youth Forward, an active member of Uni Camp for Kids and Co-Lead for Neurokin, a grassroots initiative started by the North Metropolitan Health Service, which is active across the whole of WA Health.  She is also involved with the WA Health Staff with Disabilities and Allies Network, Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital’s Climate and Sustainability Community of Practice and ADHD WA.

    She joins us after graduating from Leadership WA’s LeadAbility program and the Emerging Leaders in Governance Program, which she completed in 2023 as part of the young women with disability cohort.

    Michelle is an experienced sustainability leader, passionate about providing high-level strategic advice to ensure companies are complying with their sustainability requirements to deliver outcomes that are consistent with the protection and promotion of their social licence to operate, and clearly disclosing these to their stakeholders. 

    She has vast practical experience in all elements of sustainability (health, safety, environment, native title, heritage and human rights) from an operational level, corporate and as an external advisor. She holds undergraduate degrees in law and science from the University of Notre Dame Australia, and has qualifications in Sustainable Capitalism and ESG at Berkeley Law School. 

    She has a long history of volunteering with National Environmental Law Association both in WA and nationally, where she is currently a Director.
