Southcare’s Board has again been strengthened with the appointment of Michelle Brooks as a Board Trainee bringing a renewed focus on sustainability.

Michelle is an experienced sustainability leader and joins the Southcare Board after graduating from the Emerging Leaders in Governance Program, which Southcare has run since 2011.

The appointment comes at an important time with the new aged care reforms changing the way Southcare and other in-home aged care providers will deliver services.

“I am delighted to use my governance, law and sustainability skills to support the management of legal and governance issues for Southcare as it navigates the raft of significant changes happening now in the aged care sector,” Michelle said.

“I have seen first-hand the importance of essential and high quality care for our ageing population, with my grandmother living with dementia.  I am excited to use my skills to support this transformational time in the aged care sector.”

Michelle is lawyer and has a long volunteering history at the National Environmental Law Association where is a Board Director.  She is adept at providing high-level strategic advice to ensure companies are complying with their sustainability requirements to deliver outcomes that are consistent with the protection and promotion of their social licence to operate, and clearly disclosing these to their stakeholders.
