Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and Statement of Rights

At Southcare we believe everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect in aged care.
Our participants deserve person-centred care and our caring hands work with you to support you so you can stay independent, comfortable and connected in the place you love most — your home.
The Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards define what good care looks like and Southcare is fully compliant with the standards as follows:

Statement of Rights
At Southcare, we deliver care in line with Statement of Rights, meaning you are at the centre of your care and always in control.
Because we uphold the Statement of Rights as referenced in the new Aged Care Act 2024, it means you have the right to:
- make your own decisions about your own life
- have your decisions not just accepted, but respected
- get information and support to help you make decisions
- communicate your wishes, needs and preferences
- feel safe and respected
- have your culture and identity respected
- stay connected with your community
