Get out your party frock with the re-opening of the Southcare op shop!
Need some Winter woolies? Or how about some new homewares? Perhaps some pots and pans? Or even a new frock on your next shopping stop?
You can grab them all (and more!) at the Southcare op shop in Manning, which is re-opening on Tuesday June 16 after being closed for 70 days.
Southcare CEO Dr Nicky Howe said the op shop was temporarily closed during COVID-19 and with the relaxing of the rules it was now time for it to embrace the new normal.
“The decision to re-open the op shop is 100% the right choice now, just as the decision to close it earlier this year was 100% the right choice back then,” Dr Howe said.
When the shop re-opens, the following guidelines will be in place for our collective health:
- A volunteer will meet and screen customers at the door;
- Only one customer is allowed inside the shop at any one time; and
- Details of all customers will be recorded (in the event of contact tracing).
The health and safety of our customers, volunteers and employees is paramount which is why we are managing COVID-19 with such stringent measures and rest assured the re-opening of the op shop forms part of that.
“We are the only op shop in the City of South Perth so the community will once again have a local and valued resource for circular fashion, homewares, accessories and heaps more at affordable prices.
“Our fabulous volunteers who make the shop what it is – Stephanie, Liz, Teresa, Jo, Emily, Lee, Wendy and Margaret – are all so excited to return and welcome customers,” Dr Howe said.
The shop will open every Tuesday and Thursday between 10am and 2.30pm and is located at 54 Bickley Crescent in Manning (opposite the Southcare headquarters).
All profits raised from the Southcare Op Shop enable our team to provide personalised in-home aged care and community services to allow our most vulnerable community members to live with dignity and respect in their own home.
