As part of our community connect program, Southcare and The Boxing Project will be running free weekly non-combat boxing, fitness, and wellness sessions in 2024 and would love to hear from you about how you want them to run.

Join us for a pop-up session with qualified instructors on Saturday 16 December and have your say. Free gloves are provided for all participants and classes will be tailored to your needs in air-conditioned comfort at Southcare’s Community Hall. Everyone welcome! Even better, coffee from Our Ruby Girl will be served right after the class from their mobile van so you can stay and chat with the team and other fitness friends.

The Boxing Project is a community group that focuses on the non-combat, technical skills of boxing and will work with you to increase strength, fitness, and agility for all abilities. They purposely don’t run classes in a gym, which is why they are running their classes with us!

Chair of The Boxing Project Maya Shah said classes will include a warm up, 15 minutes of basic boxing skills, 15 minutes of shadow boxing drills, 15 minutes of circuits of Pilates and a 30 minute stretching and wellbeing workshop.

“They are designed for the community in an inclusive and welcoming environment and we’re excited to launch them with the help of locals, customers and anyone who wants to connect and build confidence,” Maya said.
