Music and memories … join us for the SongStory project
When you think about or hear a particular song, does it take you to another time and place? Perhaps to a special person in your life, a family member, an event or even just a feeling? If you answered yes, you have a “Song Story”!
Southcare is helping the City of South Perth develop its SongStory project by asking you to tell us what you think!
Professional opera, musical theatre and concert singer Penny Reynolds is travelling around our City to collect stories, and we would love to hear yours!
If you would like to participate, please join us for an informal morning tea where you will have a chance to contribute, and meet some other friendly participants too!
Wednesday 30 August
11am – midday
Southcare Community Hub (Educate space)
52 Bickley Crescent, Manning
At the event you will be asked to write down your favourite song and artist as well as answers to questions such as “where were you heard the song”, “who were you with when you heard the song?” and “how does the song make you feel today?”.
You don’t need to be a music lover to participate, and we promise there will be no singing (unless of course you really want to!).
The stories will be used to create a concert that will be performed during Seniors Week, hosted by the City of South Perth and everyone who participates will be invited.
Register your attendance by emailing marketing@southcare.org.au.
