Southcare Spotlight: Meet Your Instructor Anna

Southcare Hero Anna is a trained dancer and much-loved personal trainer who brings energy, care and connection to every class. She is passionate about helping people feel their best and creating a space where everyone feels welcome.

Tell us about what you do at Southcare?
I lead a weekly chair dancing class every Monday morning, and Pilates classes every Tuesday evening and Saturday morning as part of the Community Connect program in Southcare’s community hall.

Describe yourself in three words?
Grateful, thoughtful and practical.

What does being a Southcarer mean to you?
I’m all about connecting people and making people happy. I love seeing people in my classes—watching them move, smile, talk and connect. Getting out of the home and into wellness programs is so important, particularly as we age. It’s incredibly rewarding, and I always leave feeling inspired and positive thanks to the people I meet.

What is a quote you live by?
“A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.”

A favourite memory at Southcare?
There are so many, but what stands out is building a community with a shared interest. I see friendships form, shy people grow in confidence and wellness goals achieved—it’s truly heartwarming. If you’ve ever thought about doing something for yourself, come along. There’s an awesome and welcoming group waiting for you.

When you’re not at Southcare, what are you doing?
When I’m not running my cleaning business or teaching Pilates by the river, I enjoy spending time with my family and my elderly Mum. I love attending gym classes like Zumba, Body Balance and Pilates, as well as cooking, gardening when time allows, and cuddling our two gorgeous cats, Milo and Cleo.

We look forward to seeing you on the mat—or the chair—very soon.
