This update is shared by our caring hands to support you as we transition to Support at Home.

As part of the new aged care reforms, the Aged Care Quality Standards are changing and that means better care for you because the strengthened standards define what good care looks like.

Changing of the standards comes into effect on 1 July, and at Southcare we are ready.

In fact, we are working to the new standards now, and all of our team are undergoing training for each of the five applicable modules for in home aged care over the next few months.

Much of the reason we are ready for these changes is because of the caring hands of Patricia, who is Southcare’s Quality and Clinical Risk Advisor. She has been diligently auditing and updating our systems, policies and processes so that our Southcarers can continue to deliver a high-quality service to you.

Working in quality, compliance and aged care roles for 20+ years including time as an assessor and receiving an OAM for her contributions to aged care, community and nursing, Patricia has been vigilant in making sure everything is compliant so that we are maximising care for you.

As Patricia tells us: “The customer should always be at the centre of all we do, and it has been wonderful to see how progressive Southcare has been in keeping the customer at the forefront with the raft of changes underway.”

As you can appreciate, it has been a huge amount of work, but we are all in good hands!
