Your health deserves your attention — and understanding the conditions that can affect women differently is an important part of looking after yourself.
This Women’s Health Week, Southcare is inviting women in our community to join us for a Women, Wellness and Well-being Workshop, a free and empowering session exploring some of the health conditions and life changes that can have a significant impact on women.
Join us for a free health check and practical information on:
Heart attack – know the signs
Heart attacks can present differently in women, and the symptoms are not always as obvious as we might expect.
We’ll explore the signs to look out for, why it is important to act quickly and how understanding your heart health can help you take action when it matters.
Stroke – every minute matters
Knowing the warning signs of a stroke could help save a life.
We’ll look at the signs to recognise, including the importance of remembering FAST – Face, Arms, Speech, Time – and why getting urgent medical help is critical.
Alzheimer’s disease – understanding changes in memory
Forgetfulness can be a normal part of ageing, but some changes in memory, thinking or behaviour may be signs of something more.
We’ll talk about Alzheimer’s disease, what to look out for and why it is important to seek advice if you notice changes in yourself or someone you care about.
Coping with life changes
Our health is about more than our physical well-being.
As we move through life, we can experience significant changes, including bereavement, retirement, changing relationships, caring responsibilities, loneliness or other challenges that can affect how we feel.
We’ll explore ways to look after your emotional well-being and recognise when it might be time to reach out for support.
Come along, learn and connect
This friendly session is an opportunity to learn more about women’s health, ask questions and connect with others in your community in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Join us for a morning of information, empowerment, connection and practical knowledge to help you feel more confident about looking after your health and well-being.
