This is what community connection looks like when we create and collaborate with Royal Perth Golf Club, and all for a good cause in Remembrance Day!

There’s 1,500 crocheted and knitted poppies on display all around the clubhouse, and all made by these clever ladies who spent months creating and then gathered to enjoy their works of art at a special morning tea.

Women’s Vice Captain at the club and the next-of-kin to one of our Southcare Stars, Karen reached out to us to see if our knitting team could help and help they did!

“In some way, everyone has a personal connection to WW1, so coming together for poppy day is a lovely way to remember,” she said.

Sally (third from left) who leads our knitting circle and contributed hundreds of poppies herself also celebrated a birthday at the event.

Want to get involved in similar projects or connect with likeminded ladies too? Come and join our knitting circle that meets every Wednesday from 10am, and perhaps you can be here having morning tea next year!
