Since our inception, the volunteers at Southcare have played an important role in our organisation by striving to make a positive difference to the lives of others. The achievements of Southcare would not be possible without the continued commitment of our many volunteers who dedicate their time to building strong communities and assisting those in need. We have a diverse range of volunteers who, over time, become an important part of Southcare. Volunteers give their many talents and insights which help keep us connected and grounded in within the community of South Perth.
Our volunteers are of all ages and come from a wide range of social, cultural, professional and personal backgrounds. They have many experiences, wisdoms and stories to share and we value their presence as an integral part of our cultural tapestry and tradition. They help us provide invaluable services to the community and staff some areas of our business, including the Mankara Op shop and Emergency Relief.
Southcare’s volunteers give their time and experience for many reasons: to share their skills and knowledge, learn new skills, meet new people, find out what’s going on in the community, or because they want to do something for someone else. With this diversity, it means we have a depth of experience and a richness which is always growing as new volunteers join our organisation.
Southcare welcomes volunteers who are passionate about aged care and want to give back to the community. Southcare volunteers can be involved with a range of aged care and community services, including:
